Chicken Rate Today Pakistan

The poultry industry in Pakistan is one of the most vibrant and exciting segments of agriculture, contributing significantly to the national GDP (1.4 percent ). Commercial chicken production began in Pakistan in the 1960s, with numerous ups and downs. The poultry industry initially benefited from several business-friendly government regulations, but subsequently faced many obstacles such as disease outbreaks, various prohibitions, and retail price variations. The poultry sector was adequately stabilized in the late 1990s due to the entry of large investors with new technology and increased profit margins on chicken goods. The poultry business is now Pakistan’s second-biggest sector, employing about 1.5 million people. Pakistan is the world’s 11th biggest chicken producer, producing 1.02 billion broilers, 48.83 million layers, and 11.8 million breeding stock per year. Over Rs.700 billion is now invested in the poultry business. According to the Economic Survey (2016-2017), the commercial layer, breeder, and broiler stocks had yearly growth rates of 7.0 percent, 5.0 percent, and 10%, respectively. According to World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines, per capita, animal protein intake in the United States is 27g per day, whereas in Pakistan it is 17g. This disparity demonstrates that the chicken business must expand in order to meet WHO guidelines for animal protein. In recent years, the government has made a number of efforts to improve chicken, ostrich, quail, and duck production in Pakistan. In this approach, the government is also giving farmers subsidies. However, more understanding of chicken meat production and processing is required to fulfill local and worldwide demand. This overview attempts to cover the history, current state, future directions, and issues of Pakistan’s poultry sector. It will also serve as a foundation for poultry professionals and policymakers to build strategic plans for the industry’s future development.
